Born survivor - The ultimate 10km military obstacle course
Lowther Castle, the Lake District, 5th April 2014.
If you’re after a new challenge, then look no further than the newest fixture in the UK’s obstacle racing calendar, Born Survivor.
Featuring over 30 purpose built obstacles and 1,000 ft of lung busting ascent across a 10km course, Born Survivor aims to break new ground as the toughest and most innovative event in the country, with military-inspired obstacles designed to test fitness, determination and team work to the limit.
Designed by members of the elite corps of Royal Marines Commandos and the first of its kind in the UK, this gruelling event will take place on Saturday 5th April, at the ordinarily tranquil Lowther Castle near Penrith.
However, this stunning venue, nestled amid rugged parkland on the edge of the Lake District National Park, will be shaken to its core when individuals and teams embark on what could be their toughest challenge yet.
It’s not all mud, sweat and tears, though. The festival-inspired fun and games are set to last all weekend with on-site camping facilities from Friday to Sunday, post-event music, licensed bar and top-notch catering facilities in the event village. Participants will also be spurred on to cross the finish line with the promise of Born Survivor goodies, including exclusive event dog tags, t-shirt and headwear!
