Length: 50 km
Location: Crowsnest Pass
The Half Moon in August is the only wilderness, sprint adventure race in Alberta. The Crowsnest Pass is an inspiring area that is both stunning and challenging. The “dry side†of the Rockies offers diverse terrain ranging from dense pine forests to semi-arid alpine meadows. This is an all new course for 2010.
The HMIA is an 8 hour, unsupported race and is a great way for new teams to get into the sport of Adventure Racing. We also offer challenging advanced sections so that more experienced racers can also get in a full day of racing.
The HMIA is open to teams of two with female, male and co-ed categories. Race into the dusk in this classic AR sprint. Disciplines include mountain biking, trekking and paddling, all linked with serious navigation through rugged terrain.
Prizes are available to the top three finishers in the all-female, all-male and co-ed categories. All racers and volunteers are invited to the post-race dinner and awards ceremonies and after-party. Sea Kayak Mountain Biking Navigation Mountain Trek/Run Trail Running/Walking Entry Fee( CAD ) 300
