|My background is rugby but I gave that up a few years ago after a knee injury. I started running and mountain biking to strengthen my knee and it worked. I didn't go back to playing rugger but took part in a local charity multisport race. I enjoyed that so much that I kept an eye out for longer, harder events and found the world of Adventure Racing.|
My first Adventure Race was in April 2007 located in Llandogo, Monmouthshire. It was a DAR race and the course was set by the one and only Tom Gibbs! I've been addicted since.
I competed in my first AR World Series Expedition Race in July 2009 in the USA. The UntamedNE race was great and I subsequently competed in the Portugal ARWC 2009, Adidas Terrex 2010 and Alpine Expedition (APEX) Switzerland Race in 2011.
I joined forces with Paul Pickering and Natalie Taylor in the 'Adventure Sports UK Magazine' team and then with the same members in Team Likeys.com.
2012 promises to be a busy year!
