First got into multisport events at University through Modern Pentathlon team (Shoot, fence, swim, Horse ride, run). When I left College I took up Triathlon and soon realised that although road biking wasn’t really my thing, mountain biking definitely was! It wasn’t until 2001 that I got into Adventure racing. Having grown up in the Lake District I already had experience of thrashing across fells in the rain so AR seemed to next obvious step.
Over the last few years I have competed in Ace Races, Mountain Bike trailquest, enduro and 24hr events. I also do a bit of climbing and mountaineering including self supported ski touring and climbing trips to Greenland and Spitsbergen. |

| Best AR discipline | Mountain Biking, especially the technical bits |
| Worst AR discipline | running on hard flat surfaces - I prefer the mud and the hills |
| AR ambitions | To be more consistent and to have confidence in my navigation and route planning |
| AR bugbear | Midges |
| AR best moment | Completing Ace race solo series |
| AR worst moment | Pulling out of all events in first half of 2003 after realising that glandular fever and endurance racing don’t really mix |
| My AR best results | 1st Mixed pair Exmoor Ace Race 2005 |
| 1st Female solo Ace Races Shap and Harfen 2006 |
| 4th mixed pair Open 24 2007, 4th SITS solo 2007 |
| 1st Female solo Ace Race series winner 2006 |
| 29th in WARC 2007 with the lovely Tea and Medals |
| Favourite AR race | if you love water its got to be Open 12 and 24... |
| Favourite piece of kit | Toyota Hiace Van – perfect for transporting bikes, friends and smelly wet kit |
| Advice(tip) for other racers | Invest in some good lights for Night events, they make all the difference when you are stuck on a hill top and don’t know where you are!! |
