Day 5: Three more teams are in here in Ensenada...

Day 5: Three more teams are in here in Ensenada...By Jacqueline Windh

Day 5, 9:00 pm

Team Lucky, travelling with Feed the Machine’s Sylvie Maracci, paddled across the finish line a few minutes after 4pm today. There were lots of hugs as this group arrived, and Sylvie’s boyfriend Cyril from DART-nuun was waiting to greet her too.

Just before 6pm, teams Dirty Avocados and Suburbanrush.com paddled in together – for the most part doing well, but Suburbanrush’s Tanya hurting a bit. She fell from her bike in the second-last bike section and broke her nose – but continued through the big canyon trek, and the final bike, walk and paddle right to the end – tough chick!

Equinox has just come out of the canyon now, with El Rey Azul expected to be making it out around midnight. El Rey Azul will skip the last kayak section and ride their bikes all the way to the finish – Equinox will be given that option too, but we’re not yet sure if they will choose to kayak or will bike right in.

Meanwhile, here at the Corona Hotel, right on the port, we are all preparing for tonight’s big fiesta.
