 Another long and cold day in the snow
The day started with a gruelling bike ride – gruelling both because of the bitter cold and because of the 500 m of elevation that they would gain on icy roads over the 30 km. |

 A lovely day on the river
The air was crisp, and the snow sparkled on the ground. I followed the kayaks in a zodiac, and every meander of the river led to another breath-taking view of a frosty castellated mountain peak. |

Aside from the spectacular frosted mountain scenery, racers were treated to all sorts of wildlife: ñandú (like emus), guanacos, a patagonian skunk, and even a puma! |
