| By Steve It was a clean sweep for the Saab Salomon Running Team this weekend with the men bagging the first two places and Natalie White taking the womens' race.
The race, at Black Combe in the south west of the Lake District was a counter in this year's English Championship and saw some of Britain's best mountain runners competing. The race was run in thick mist with a large number of the 320 runners getting lost.
First home was Team Saab Salomon's Rob Jebb in 67:54 followed by his team mate Rob Hope three minutes later in second and Simon Booth in third. Natalie White made it a clean sweep by winning the women's race beating Helen Fines into second and Sharon Taylor in third.
The next race in the English Championship is the Yorkshire Three Peaks race in April. This race is also the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championship. |
