Expedition Estonia – a non-stop coast to coast multisport race with basic navigation (GPS allowed). Race course goes through Estonia following most forested area, crosses several big bogs with hundreds of lakes and ends on sandy beach of summer capital Pärnu. It’s midsummer night on 23rd so there will be lots of people lighting fires and partying along the river. Race course is free between control points but is mostly on paths, small roads and river – paved roads are mostly out of bounds. 10 control points enroute will be revealed 1 month before start.
Race course length is approx. 210 km. Course is not marked, suggested gpx track and control coordinates provided for handheld GPS.
On foot: ca 40 km from Tammispea Lahemaa National Park to Kõrvemaa NP on small roads and paths
By bike: ca 130 km from Kõrvemaa NP to Soomaa NP mainly on small gravel roads
By kayak/canoe: ca 40 km from Soomaa to Pärnu beach on Navesti & Pärnu rivers.
It is a team race, with 1-2 participants in a team. Expected winners time is about 16 hours, course open for 48h.
There are 2 transition areas with food and possibility to rest.
