Length: 50 km
Location: Isle of Man
The Manx Mountain Marathon is a one day endurance mountain race, from Ramsey in the North of the Island, to Port Erin in the South. It takes you on a journey through the islands northern fells and onto the stunning cliffs of the south. There is 2500m of climbing over the route.
Some navigation may be needed in poor visibility and it is expected that competitors carry full FRA safety equipment. There is a short 'half mountain marathon' starting in the village of St Johns and then following the southern section of the full race. The winner usually completes the full course in around five hours.
The island is serviced with ferry and air routes, with an abundance of B&B's. The MFR running club is available to help with enquiries. This is a local event with an international heritage - if you enjoy running in wild and beautiful places, this is the race for you.
