We are very proud to continue the tradition of Öloppet, one of the first races after the original ÖTILLÖ. Öloppet was established in 2012 and it has been the most important Swimrun race on the Swedish West Coast ever since. We are now working with two of the founders of Öloppet to make sure we can build a great event based on their history.
ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Gothenburg is just off the mainland with local ferries servicing the islands and archipelago of Styrsö, Donsö and Brännö several times per hour. This race is super accessible and the the race environment is unique.
The islands are beautiful granite islands with small communities everywhere; the summer tradition, the ocean and the friendly smiles are ever present. The fishing community is still active.
In early August it is the height of the summer season, that is why we have chosen to put on all three distances on the same day. There will be lots of spectators and this will be a real celebration of the Swedish summer.
We follow the footsteps and traditions of the well-known Öloppet. A West Coast Swimrun tradition since 2012. This World Series is a full-throttle event. A high-speed sightseeing of a unique environment. The course has lots of swims, the runs are almost all on fast ”park-paths” so not very technical, it is constant up and down, in and out. The islands have lots of people on them at this time of the year so you will all be heroes. You are up for a mega treat.
This is the last chance to qualify for ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship.
