The 44th Three Peaks Yacht Race
One of the orginal and longest running adventure races in the world, The Three Peaks Yacht Race is an iconic challenge for mariner and mountain runner.
Teams of 5 (3 sailors and 2 runners) set off from Barmouth in mid-Wales to sail up the West Coast of Britain, stopping at Caernarfon, Whitehaven and Fort William to let the runners ashore.
Their task is to race to the top of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis (the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland.). They may have to do some rowing, sailing and cooking too.
A classic team adventure of the old school. The snowflake generation need not apply.
