Land Rover Joins FNB Wines2Whales Sponsor Family

Land Rover and the challenging trails that comprise the FNB Wines2Whales route go hand-in-hand. The esteemed automaker has, after all, forged a reputation over the past 70 years for exploring, adventuring and going where no other vehicle has ever dared to go. Having recently aligned itself with mountain biking and the lifestyle that accompanies it, joining the FNB W2W as Official Vehicle and Route Partner made perfect sense for Land Rover as a brand.

“We are thrilled to confirm our partnership with the FNB Wines2Whales as the Official Vehicle and Route Partner for the next three years,” said Richard Gouverneur, Managing Director of Land Rover South Africa. “Land Rover is so much more than just the most capable all-terrain vehicle. Both brands are also celebrating milestones this year which makes the timing of this announcement all the more relevant.

“2018 is a landmark year for both of us. For Land Rover, 2018 marks its 70th anniversary of existence, and the 2018 FNB Wines2Whales will be the 10th year of the event,” continued Gouverneur. “The FNB W2W is the perfect platform to demonstrate the unrivalled capability, versatility and composure of our vehicles.”

The partnership represents a pivotal moment in the race’s illustrious history and having such a prestigious company as Land Rover come on board as the Official Vehicle and Route partner shows how valuable and highly regarded the FNB W2W race portfolio has become on the local mountain bike scene.

The first race (26 – 28 October 2018) will be the FNB Wines2Whales Chardonnay, the second (29 – 31 October 2018) the FNB Wines2Whales Pinotage, while the third race (2 – 4 November 2018) the FNB Wines2Whales Shiraz. While both weekend events are sold out there are still limited slots available for the Pinotage race – register now to avoid missing the biggest birthday bash of the year.
