Alpine Quest Champions Alpine Avengers Returning To Defend Their Title in 2020

Alpine Avengers team, consisted of notable racers Liz Dornom, Dave Schloss, Jarad Kohlar and Angus Rodwell, winners of the first edition of Alpine Quest. Undoubtedly the strongest Australian squad of 2018-2019 racing season is returning back to Alpine Quest 2020 to prove their dominance in the Australian adventure racing scene.
Team captain Liz Dornom said: “Alpine avengers are incredibly excited to be returning to Alpine Quest to defend their title. The Falls Creek area is an amazing playground for adventure racers and offers many challenges. Although the Avengers have many years of adventure racing experience between them, the inaugural Alpine Quest event in 2019 was the first time this team had raced together and was a catalyst for a very successful year of racing. We are looking forward to competing against some top level teams as we explore the Victorian Alps in yet another well run event by the Adventure Junkie team.”
Alpine Quest was introduced to the Australian Adventure Racing scene last year and was born from a desire to showcase the unique attributes of the stunning High Country region.
Competitors embarked on a journey through a unique landscape and came away with an amazing experience. The 2019 event showed that the Alps need to be respected. Extreme heat turned into subzero temperature within a few hours, making tough race course even tougher.
Race Organisers Paul, Serge and Maria took into consideration various opinions and feedback from the last year and came up with a concept of introducing a shorter course in addition to the headliner 2-day Expedition course this year. The one- day Explore course will offer less experienced competitors an incredible opportunity to race alongside with the best racers in the country and enjoy the scenic Falls Creek area.
The event aims to bring this magnificent region to both novice and experienced competitors, testing them physically and mentally while allowing them to become immersed in the beauty which alpine Australia offers through awe-inspiring views, and stunning sunsets.
