The hottest ticket in Australian adventure racing has been snapped up by eager competitors.

The Rogue Raid 24-hour adventure race will host its 11th edition from the shores of the Logan River on May 2 and 3.

More than 150 participants are expected from overseas and interstate.

Competitors will negotiate a course of their own choosing via a mix of mountain biking, kayaking and hiking.

Teams of two to four racers will compete to collect as many check points as possible in 24 hours while navigating an unmarked course with just a map and compass.

The race is about strategy as much as speed.

Entering its 11th year, The Rogue Raid has grown in popularity and is now the largest 24-hour adventure race in Australia.

Logan City Council Community Services Director Katie Barton-Harvey said Council was proud to sponsor such an exciting event.

“I’m sure the competitors will find Logan’s bush trails and waterways challenging,” Ms Barton-Harvey said.

Dr Liam St Pierre, the race’s director, said the 24-hour multisport navigation event was now full.

He said the course had attracted some of the country’s top adventure racers.

These include former Australian national champion teams.

"These competitors are keen to test themselves on an adventurous course," he said.

“We have had incredible interest since registrations opened in mid-December.

“We expect that to continue with the six-hour course option now open to an extra 100 competitors."

Dr St Pierre said the City of Logan was a perfect fit for the 2020 race.

“The City of Logan offers the perfect opportunity for a weekend of outdoor adventure,” he said.

“It has a plethora of bush hiking, riding and outstanding paddling options.

“The city and its surrounds offer great accessibility to waterways and paddling opportunities along with some hidden pockets of bushland and trails for teams to navigate.”

Dr St Pierre said The Rogue Raid would be the second race in the national Mountain Designs Adventure 1 series.
