Get Ready for the Unveiling of the Red Bull Illume Image Quest Winners

All around the world, photographers are waiting in anticipation to find out if they will win the most coveted prize in adventure and action sports photography – the overall winner's crown of the Red Bull Illume    Image Quest 2021. Selecting the winning images from 41,447 submissions is far from easy, this is why we entrusted 53 photo editors and photo experts from around the world to be a part of the Red Bull Illume jury.

From November 29, the 56 finalists and the 11 category winners will be announced daily, building to the unveiling of the Red Bull Illume Overall Winner on December 4, 2021.

Every day over five days the finalists and winners of two categories will be announced live on social media and on redbullillume.com bringing the experience for the first time to fans all over the world.

The overall winner will then be unveiled on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in Aspen Snowmass, CO, USA. It is also in Aspen Snowmass that the Red Bull Illume Exhibit Tour officially kicks off, which sees the winning images exhibited around the globe. A live feed will allow global audiences to follow the announcement of the Red Bull Illume Overall Winner and celebrate the greatest adventure and action sports photography around today. 

There are three weeks remaining until the big reveal of the category winners and overall winner on December 4, 2021. Until then, the 20 amazing semi-finalist images of each category are being revealed every week and can be viewed online.

Submissions for the global contest were open from March 01 to August 01, 2021 and were entered on redbullillume.com and on Instagram while tagging @redbullillume and #rbi21submission.

A judging panel of 53 renowned photo editors and photo experts reviewed a total of 41,447 submissions, narrowing down the selection in five voting rounds to reach 256 semi-finalists, 56 finalists, 11 category winners, and ultimately, the overall winner of Red Bull Illume Image Quest 2021. They will be announced during the Unveiling Week from November 29 until December 4, 2021 on Instagram Live and on redbullillume.com, bringing the experience for the first time to fans all over the world.
