Ultimate Event Productions Limited Acquires Iconic Routeburn Classic Trail Run Event

Ultimate Event Productions Limited, owners of the Kathmandu Coast to Coast, has announced its acquisition of the Routeburn Classic trail run event in New Zealand. The event, which takes place annually along the stunning Routeburn Track in the Fiordland National Park, has been a popular fixture on the trail running calendar for over a decade.

"We're excited to add the Routeburn Classic to our portfolio of events," said Ultimate Event Productions Ltd Director Noel Saxon. "The event is a unique and challenging trail run that showcases some of the most spectacular scenery in New Zealand. We're looking forward to continuing the tradition of the Routeburn Classic and providing an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike." Associate company Ultimate Hikes has been running guided walks through the track for a number of years now so it was great symmetry for the two products.

The event is a 32-kilometre trail run that takes participants over the Routeburn Track, one of New Zealand’s Great Walks that links Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks in Te Wāhipounamu – South West New Zealand World Heritage Area. The trail winds through ancient beech forests, over alpine passes, and past cascading waterfalls, offering runners an unparalleled wilderness experience. The event attracts runners from around the world and has been lauded for its breathtaking views and challenging course.

The 2023 Routeburn Classic is scheduled to take place on Saturday 29 April, with only 350 spots available for athletes. Registration for the event is now open, and interested participants can enter online at www.routeburnclassic.co.nz.
