Getting To The Finish On Day 4

Press Release / 12.06.2019

The last day of Huairasinchi 2019 began with the teams scattered around the route. The leaders, team # 3 Columbia Life Raid and # 7 Life Adventure Team finished the 130 km of MTB early in the morning at the Reform town, and started leg # 5, a 30km trekking. This leg is a loop that would take them to the route of the Crystal River Falls.

Team # 2 Movistar TerraAventura, started the trekking at 8am, so they will make a short course and will not mark CP 28 and CP29. The waterfall route is a jungle route, of humid forest, in which teams will be able to discover incredible waterfalls.

Meanwhile, in Zumbahua the teams # 5 Qualify- Beatfitness, # 15 Tocopaxi, # 17 Competition Aroeira, # 12 Papacara went directly to the finish line, so they will not do the trekking of leg # 5.

During the bike stage that will take them to the finish, they will initially ascend towards the Quilotoa lagoon and Chugchilán. From there, the teams will have approximately 6000m of descent. The teams will move from the highlands, to the humid forest crossing the mystic valley, where the ruins of Malqui Machay are located, an archaeological zone where the remains of Atahualpa apparently remain.

Teams # 14 Haku Ar and # 30 Guambras, which are also in short course from Angamarca, are biking from this point to the finish line, also in the descent of the Mystic Valley, near the tropical zone.

Team # 22, which started with these two teams, retired in the route due to health problems.

Finally, Team # 1 Estonian Ace Adventure, who after spending hours off the route in the highlands, lost due to the fog, returned to Angamarca yesterday night. From this point they were transported by the organization to Zumbahua. This morning, out of competition, they started the mountain bike route towards the finish line.

At 13:23 in San Gabriel del Baba (Santo Domingo), the first teams arrived. Team # 5 Qualify- Beat Fitness who did not do Trekking # 5, and Team # 2 Movistar Terra Aventura, who did the short course trekking # 5.

We are waiting for the other teams! Who will make first and second place?
