Surviving the Storms on the First Night

The first night of racing shook up the calm flow of the race. Several teams gave up because of technical problems or health issues (nothing serious: mostly blisters, temporary fever, exhaustion etc.).
In the afternoon teams were washed with heavy rain which prolonged the stay of several teams in TA1. The rain livened up the race through the whole of the evening and during the night.
The leading team “EPO&HSK Benecko/Sport nás baví“ gained an even bigger time gap when the 2nd placed TEAM CZECH, broke their derailleur hanger on a bike and decided to give up. Most of other teams who met some problems decided to go unranked in three or two person teams and enjoy some more adventure. After the 2nd day only 9 four-member teams were able to continue on the full course.
At 10 p.m. the MINI Adventure Race started. This is an 18 hour long event for two person teams. They taste some of stages of the long course and the atmosphere of the Adventure Race.
