A bunch of tips on things to look out for in navigation during an adventure race, whether you are the navigator or not. Learned mostly through hard experience, better to learn from my mistakes than to repeat them all yourself. Unless you're a masochist, of course, and to be an adventure racer, one might argue that it's a prerequisite! ;)

When entering URL's (Website/FaceBook/Twitter) you must include either http:// or https://. (If you highlight and copy from a browser this will be included. If there is a padlock symbol it's https://)
Email addresses are NOT displayed on the website - they are for us to keep in touch with you about the event. You should use the same admin email for all your events. You log-in with this.
One entry per event please! If you have multiple events on the same day (short/long/elite classes) don't make separate entries for each. Explain difference courses in notes. You can put in up to 4 event lengths.
When the event goes up you will be emailed your log-in details so check spam folders if you don't see it. Use these to edit, copy, and add more events
The notes section should contain at least a brief description of the event. There is a minimum of 200 characters, but use more. (This is where you tell readers about your event so sell it!)
If you do not upload an event logo NO social media links will be displayed. (It does not look anywhere near as good.)
The Event Logo should be a JPEG/GIF/PNG file and less than 10Mb in size.
When choosing disciplines, team composition and duration select ALL that apply to your event. (So for Swimrun races choose swim and run ... simple!)
Choose the country where the event starts even if the finish is in a different one.
Competition Area is the state/region/area where the event takes place. (i.e. Montana/Tasmania/Lake District National Park) - Maximum 45 characters.

Notes On Updating Your Admin Details
Please be sure to select an email address that is monitored AND emails from calendar@sleepmonsters.com DO NOT end up in your SPAM folder.
Entries will only remain on the calendar if the admin email address remains active.
NO email addresses will be displayed openly on the website
We will use this email address for administration of your SleepMonsters account. We will not pass it on to any third parties.
Ensure the password is easy to remember AND contains letters and numbers.
Changing admin details will change the details for ALL the events registered to you.
