Beginning at St Bees on the west coast, Northern Traverse follows Wainwright's 190 mile Coast to Coast route.
It crosses the north of England through three National Parks finishing in Robin Hood’s Bay on the east coast.
Taking in iconic mountains, valleys, moors and over 16,000 feet of ascent, the Northern Traverse is one of the most spectacular ultra races in the world.
“Having completed this journey myself over 4 days, I know what an amazing and varied landscape this country has to offer. I’m excited to showcase this journey to the Ultra Running community.” James Thurlow, Event Director
(The Lakes Traverse is a 60 mile event taking place at the same time and covering the first part of the route, across the Lake District.)
