The 2022 Rogaine Ireland, 24hr and 6hr event will be held in the Wicklow Mountains on 18th & 19th June 2022. The 24hr will commence at 14:00 on Saturday 18th June and the 6hr will commence at 08:00 on Sunday 19th June.

Please note we are using the EastWest West Wicklow map for this year's race, physical maps can be ordered at https://eastwestmapping.ie/ , please note their app cannot be used for navigation !

Rogaining is a sport of long distance navigation on foot for teams of two or more over a twenty four hour period. The object of the sport is to score points by finding checkpoints located within a specially mapped area over the twenty four hours. As checkpoints can be visited in any order, strategy and teamwork are important features of the sport as well as endurance, stamina and navigational skills, with night navigation a key element. The team members must stay together at all times. We also hope that you will find the time to stop and admire the views of this beautiful part of Ireland.

We also have a 6 hour event for individuals or teams. This takes place during daylight hours only.

The event takes place in the Wicklow Mountains to the south of Dublin. The precise start/finish location is not disclosed until close to the event date. The terrain is mainly open moorland with large tracts of planted coniferous forest.

A central Event Centre will be manned throughout the event. Hot food will be available at this time and an area to pitch a small tent will also be available. Teams may opt to come back to the event centre or stay out on the competition terrain for the full 24 hours.

The winning team will be determined by totalling the number of points scored less any penalty points accrued for over-running the cut off finish time. In the event of a tie, the higher placing shall be awarded to the team that finished earlier.

The after event BBQ is legendary.
