SA Adventure Racers go for World Record

Johan Radcliffe, publisher of the DIRTY BOOTS Adventure Guide and one of the participants in the forthcoming HI-TEC Dawn-2-Dusk Adventure World Record attempt, shed some light on the project. "Both Darron Raw and I have been intrinsically involved in enabling adventure activities for the broader public, myself through DIRTY BOOTS, and Darron through SWAZI TRAILS and his legendary SWAZI XTREME Adventure Race".
"Both of us turned 40 recently and decided it was high time we took a break and participated in some of the many adventures out there", Radcliffe continues. "Darron's birthday presented the perfect opportunity, and it got me thinking how many activities one could fit into a single day. After all, we live in an age of immediate gratification, yet so many people out there end up not doing anything adventurous because they think they do not have the time".
Coming up with the basic concept for the HI-TEC Dawn-2-Dusk Adventure World Record was the easy part. The hard work started during the planning stages: the activities had to be decided upon, and logistics had to be put in place to ensure the participants could seamlessly progress from one adventure to the next without wasting precious time along the way.
Fortunately, the Cape adrenaline community were quick to kick in and assist in making this dream of new world adventure record a reality. REVEL Adventures offered to assist with the transport; HI-TEC kicked in with a cash contribution plus shoes and FIRST ASCENT supplied a range of outdoor clothing to make sure the two 'extremists' would effectively cope with the climate. And most importantly, the list of operators below combined their activities to maximise the adrenaline potential on the day ...
The big question now is whether Johan and Darron can handle the exhilaration of racking up an incredible 18 adventures during the HI-TEC Dawn-2-Dusk Adventure World Record attempt? Photographers will be following them every step of the way, with both Twitter and Facebook updates during the course of the day, and the boys will also Blog their experiences once they get their breath back!
