Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race
Canadas Outdoor Adventure Capital Keen To Deliver Majestic Primal Quest Course
Press Release / 13.01.2017
Squamish British Columbia. An impressively diverse host region that offers seemingly endless adventure, challenge with stretches of undeveloped coastline and fjords that juxtapose against steep mountainous terrain that jut to the sky from the sea. ‘Squamish lives up to its name - There is such bio diversity and history in this region of the coastal mountains, the 2017 Primal Quest course demands and offers the participants both intense challenge and remarkable rewards.’ Maria Burton – Race Director and CEO.
Primal Quest Directors have been steadily developing and refining the course for over a year and with input and insights from Local Mountaineers, Past Eco-challenge staffer Scott Flavelle plus experienced expedition Adventure Race advisor Jim Mandelli (aka Team Subaru Canada)
‘We are thrilled to return to the setting for Eco-Challenge 20 years ago. This coastal terrain is so vast and offers so much that it has been a real indulgence to explore the region and discover the alluring features that make this course beautiful and distinct. To return here is both symbolic and significant to the prestigious Primal Quest race.’ says Burton
The coastal mountain range reaches high above sea level in short distances and the course will reflect that terrain with approx. 450km of distance and an elevation gain and loss equal to four times to peak of Everest and back. For the Primal Quest adventurers there lies the promise of an adventure of a lifetime.
Burton states ‘This backdrop is very alluring and we are excited to get plenty of interest from international teams and we very much look forward to hosting a great field in BC.’
Primal Quest is North America’s Premier Expedition Adventure Race.
