The XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championships for off-road triathlon and trail running will make their debut in Australia in 2025. This prestigious event, previously held in Taiwan will take place on 29-30 March 2025 in Dunsborough, Western Australia.

Organised in collaboration with XTERRA Global, the event marks a significant milestone as the first World Cup race on the XTERRA circuit for 2025.

"We could not dream of a better location to host our Asia-Pacific Triathlon and Trail Run Championships," stated Landry Benoit, APAC Technical Director for XTERRA. "After elevating the event in Taiwan over the past three years, we needed a venue and partner that could match and make this regional championship weekend an unforgettable experience for every off-road athlete."

With over 1,500 participants anticipated, including up to 30 international elite-level athletes, XTERRA Australia 2025 promises to showcase Australia’s South West region to the world!

Set against the stunning backdrop of Dunsborough's Meelup Regional Park, participants and spectators will witness top-tier competition amidst the regions breathtaking natural beauty that make this an enticing race location.

"We are thrilled to bring the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championships to Dunsborough next year," said General Manager of Rapid Ascent Sam Maffett. "This event not only highlights Australia's premier off-road course but also showcases Dunsborough as a world-class destination."

Dunsborough's appeal lies in its pristine environment, encompassing Geographe Bay's turquoise waters, extensive mountain bike trails, and wildflower-lined trail running tracks along the breathtaking coastline of Australia’s South West.

Benoit further elaborated on the perfect convergence of factors: "The location, the courses, and the local support have all aligned perfectly. Participants who are familiar with our previous events in Australia will be pleasantly surprised by the enhancements for 2025. Meanwhile, newcomers will discover one of the most incredible venues ever to host a championship."

Competitors can expect an exciting weekend of racing with events suitable for participants of all ages and abilities across both off-road triathlon and trail running. Events include a Short Track Triathlon spectacular, Full Distance Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon, Kids and Groms events; along with a Trail Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km Trail Runs.

XTERRA Australia 2025 is set to attract athletes from across Australia and around the globe; offering opportunities for elite and age-group competitors to secure the Asia-Pacific Championship titles, and vie for qualifying spots to the 2025 XTERRA World Championships in both triathlon and trail running.

The event's headquarters at the Dunsborough Country Club will host a vibrant expo and finish line celebration with entertainment, food, and beverages for participants and spectators; with nearby Eagle Bay Brewery to host the prestigious awards ceremony.

The XTERRA Australia event is supported by the WA Government through Tourism Western Australia’s Regional Events Scheme and Royalties for Regions; and the City of Busselton.
