Huairasinchi Starts in the Llanganates National Park

The 18th edition of the most recognized Adventure Race in Ecuador started today amidst the expectation and excitement of its participants. PROYECTO AVENTURA organization coordinated the logistics of mobilization of all the teams from the Coliseum of Patate at 4:00 am so that they could be transferred to the starting point at the control point of the Llanganates National Park.
At that point, the participants received the maps so that they could develop their navigation strategies. The tour began with an 11-kilometer trekking section for the Adventure category, which is expected to be completed in approximately one hour until reaching the Pisayambo lagoon and then begin the fixed ropes course.
Llanganates National Park is located in the central zone of Ecuadorian territory, in the provinces of Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Napo and Pastaza. This majestic paramo, surrounded by vertical slopes, rocky walls, forests and rising rivers, has temperatures ranging from 3- 24°C (41-79 °F). This natural jewel has more than 200 species of birds, 46 types of mammals and 23 species of amphibians and reptiles. It is one of the oldest and most sacred sites in the Sierra.
The Pisayambo Lagoon is one of the tourist attractions of the Llanganates National Park. It is located at 3576 meters above sea level and is more than 4 kilometers long. Its crystalline waters and intense blue color define it as a sublime landscape for those who visit it.
