International Stars Battle for Marathon Win at The Ziener BIKE Festival Garda Trentino

The Ziener BIKE Festival Garda Trentino powered by FSA hasn't lost any of its mojo still attracting some of the world's finest mountain bike talents to Lake Garda where the scene celebrates its European Opening since 24 years now. More than 2,000 hobby racers as well as international pros are coming together to compete in the famous Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathon event.
The strong and deep field is led by Urs Huber (SUI). The Swiss Team Bulls pro has placed in the top-3 of the Ronda Extrema, the most demanding of four different race distances, for four consecutive event editions now and is aiming for his third win since 2014 (Start Saturday, April 29, 7:30 AM).
However, the defending champion with four Riva wins under his belt so far, who mastered the 93.93 km and 3,813 metres of climbing in impressive 4:17.03,3 hours last year, is not the only favourite for the win.
Hermann Pernsteiner (AUT) came in third last year and fifth in 2015 and is hoping to tie on to his good results at the shores of Lake Garda.
The Austrian road and mountain bike talent is one of four athletes of the well-staffed Team Centurion Vaude who will go for Gold with Jochen Kaess (GER), Markus Kaufmann (GER) and Daniel Geismayr (AUT), who triumphed back in 2010 and finished the 2016 BIKE Transalp in first position together with Pernsteiner being the other three racers.
Topeak Ergon has also an iron in the fire as Alban Lakata (AUT) knows how to win the Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathon. The two-time marathon world champion prevailed in 2012 and 2013.
Team Bulls racer Karl Platt (GER), last year's sixth ranked rider Uwe Hochenwarter (AUT) of Craft Rocky Mountain Factory Racing as well as former Danish champion Soeren Nissen of Racing Team Stevens-LAUF are also throwing their hats in the ring.
