Spanish Rider Crowned The New King of Himalaya After 8 Intense Stages

The ultimate stage, leading to the land of his holiness Dalai Lama, created a unique sense of accomplishment among riders. The diversity of the race days and the memories of riding over 10,000 ft passes, across open ridge lines and through the depths of India is what makes this experience an unforgettable one.
The day started from the Palampur Agriculture University, took riders 56 kms into the woods, through the forests with the maximum elevation of 1735 m, directing them to their final destination.
Spanish rider Adria Noguera riding from Scott Bikes team was crowned as the winner of 8 stage race in Himachal Pradesh stage. He took a total time of 27:41:12 to finish the 650km race with offroad tracks. The race has been taking place for the past 13 years and is supported by Hero Cycles and HP Tourism Department.
Thomas Engelsgjerd from Norway finished the 8 stage race in 27:58:29.
David Kumar finished in the top 10 riders beating his close competitor Isaac Rai riding from Shashastra Seema Bal Team. David is based in Shimla and owns a bike store.
The finish of the race was followed by the race lunch and later by the closing ceremony at the stadium where the all the achievers were awarded. Only 61 riders were able to make it to the end out a total participation of 92 riders, clearly suggesting that the race is one of the toughest in the world.
The prize distribution ceremony for the event took place in Dharamshala. Lt Gen SK Saini, YSM, VSM Corps Commander, HQ 9 Corps was the Chief guest for the event. Mr Pankaj Munjal, MD and CEO of Hero Cycles was also present at the ceremony.
