X-Adventure Dunsborough presented by Siras Performance, has opened entries for the 10th edition of the race set for Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 April, 2022 in south-west Western Australia.

X-Adventure is the ultimate mix of triathlon and adventure racing featuring an ocean swim in the clear waters of Geographe Bay, trail run along the stunning granite coastline and mountain bike through the single tracks of Meelup Regional Park.

Since the event’s inception 10 years ago, the event has successfully established itself as Australia’s largest off-road triathlon. Why? Event organisers Rapid Ascent say it’s a testament to the location, the courses and the competitors.

“X-Adventure is set in the most spectacular location, so we carefully curate each course and discipline to capture the surrounding natural landscapes,” said Sam Maffett, Rapid Ascent’s General Manager.

“We are excited to see the event hit 10 years – the athletes and supporters are a true testament to the events’ success as they are the ones who embrace the courses, cheer from the sidelines and create that sensational event atmosphere year in year out,” added Maffett.

Conducted in a friendly and welcoming race atmosphere, the weekend features five different off-road races attracting more than 1,500 competitors and thousands of spectators. Athletes of all abilities are welcome with a race to suit everyone.

Held over two days, the premier Long Course race includes the 2022 Triathlon WA Off-road State Championships.

The X-Adventure Long Course includes 34 kilometres of action with a 1500m ocean swim, 12km trail run, and 20km mountain bike ride. The course attracts racers from relay teams, through to weekend warriors and elite athletes.

Past competitors have nothing but praise for the course;

Simon Billeau, a renowned triathlete and multiple X-Adventure competitor says, “This is a fantastic and tough course in a stunning location – a really great race!”

Past participant Amanda says, “A challenging, dramatic and enjoyable course in a picturesque location, all coupled with a great inclusive atmosphere – it’s a staple on our family calendar.”

The weekend also includes a Short course option (700 metre ocean swim, 6km coastal trail run and 11km mountain bike), an Aquathlon-X event (1km swim, 5km trail run); and two specific-kids events which attract over 300 school-aged children.

“The enthusiasm and determination from our stars of tomorrow is always so incredibly inspiring – we thoroughly enjoy hosting kids events as part of the weekend,” said Maffett.

Located in the majesty of Geographe Bay, Dunsborough is renowned for its stunning coastal trails, beautiful blue water and awe-inspiring scenery. The courses stretch into the sacred Meelup Regional Park with all races taking in sculpted granite coastline, running tracks peaking with wildflower and free-flowing single-track for the mountain bike leg.

Entries to the 2022 X-Adventure Dunsborough presented by Siras Performance are OPEN ONLINE at XAdventure.com.au.
