XVI Red Fox Adventure Race
The Tail End

The final three teams on the course are still out on the water for the last monster kayak stage. Both Katusha Crimea X-Run and Squirrel Squad-Arena are still making their way down from the north of Lake Ladoga back towards camp, with a suspicion that the latter may have diverted to their family's holiday home in Sortavala for a sleep.
A significant distance ahead of them, on the coasteering island, are the Russian-Australian AdventureJunkie team. None of these the will complete the full course, as there are only 4 hours until the course closes, and the final bike leg takes five at least.
Back on land, and just across the line but not able to complete the full course, are the French team Petits Suisses Normands. They arrived in the early morning, but knowing they would not have time for the full course have just ridden to the nearest bike CP and back to complete as much as possible.
There is only one full course team still to finish. The furthest out of these are the Czech team CZAR (not out, as we'd guessed, but still racing), who are at the climbing section.
The rest of the teams crossed the line at intervals during the night, including Petri Forsman and the Porkkala Swimrun team. They'd enjoyed the course, particularly the paddle and the coasteering, which they had completed without a single error unlike the two teams ahead of them. They came close to catching the front runners there, having suffered a split tubeless tyre on first bike stage. They patched the tyre but have had to be a little conservative on the bike stages just in case.
