Team Yeti Win the Masters Category

Just after 11am on Saturday morning Team Yeti kayaked up the river to come ashore in front of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Silkeborg and finish this year’s Yeti Adventure Challenge Masters course.
Family and friends were waiting on a bridge to cheer them ashore after a dominant performance in the race and a fast completion of the course. It wasn’t exactly a surprise win as they have won for the last 4 years, including beating World Champions Team Seagate last year. The team are all local athletes and race organisers themselves so they know this part of the country extremely well.
Nevertheless they had to beat the teams up against them and did so with an accomplished and faultless performance. Henrik Leth Jorgensen, one of the team navigators said, “I don’t think we made any mistakes so it makes us harder to beat in this area. I’ve been orienteering for 30 years now so its second nature.”
Torbjørn Gasbjerg, who shares the navigation said, “We didn’t see any other lights behind us since the beginning so we were out there all alone. It was very quiet and peaceful, especially on the water and with the moon and starlight was really beautiful. It was a little chilly and there was some mist in the morning but really the weather was perfect and the course quite quick, especially on the mountain bikes. “
He told me the team will be racing in the Danish national championships in a few week’s time but that from this team only Klaus Jessen and Laura Lambæk Knudse would be taking part.
