Team Avaya have crossed the finish line to win Chapter 9 of Godzone Adventure at Rotorua with another dominant performance.

They are a full 3 stages ahead of their nearest rivals, and, of course, no one is the least bit surprised.

They are at a different level to any other team and between them have an amazing track record at Godzone. Here’s how it looks ...

Chapter 1.  Milford:  Seagate win (Fa’avae/Hart/Forne /Voyce).  Stu Lynch is second with Team Harroway Oats.

Chapter 2.  Mt Cook:  Seagate retain their title with the same team. Stu Lynch is second on Team One Square Meal.

Chapter 3.  Kaikoura:  Seagate win with Stu Lynch replacing Trevor Voyce. (So the same team as this year.)

Chapter 4. Wanaka:  Seagate keep their title with the same team again.

Chapter 5. Tasman:  Nathan Fa’avae has retired and there is a very different Seagate team with an all-female line up including Sophie Hart.  Chris Forne is on the winning Yealands Family Wines team and Stu Lynch is second with Swordfox.

Chapter 6. Queenstown:  Tiki Tour win and Chris Forne is second with Yealands –  it’s the first (and only) time he has not won Godzone! Stu Lynch is 3rd with Swordfox.

Chapter 7.  Fiordland:  Chris Forne is back on winning form with Yealands ... and Stu Lynch is second with Swordfox.

Chapter 8. Canterbury:  Team Perpetual Guardian win ... navigated by Chris Forne, who else?  Stu Lynch is 3rd with Swordfox.

Chapter 9:  Rotorua:  Team Avaya are the winners!

Seagate/Avaya remain unbeaten (unless you count Chapter 5). It’s Forne’s 8th win in 9 races, and Stu Lynch has been on the podium at every Godzone.  Nathan Fa’avae has won every time he’s raced Godzone, before and after retiring, while Sophie Hart has won before and after becoming a mum.  The 2021 winners are the same team line up as the 2014 winners.

It’s an awesome record at a race which is one of the toughest in the world, where many of the world’s best international teams have lined up to try and beat them, and where the standard of kiwi teams challenging them is consistently high.  Over a decade of racing they’ve set a standard no other team has come close to matching.
